Macaroni: An uptight American businessman goes to Naples and finds some incomplete personal business left over from his last visit while he was an amorous cadet in the Second World War. 2 of the most charming entertainers ever try to keep this film together, and nearly triumph. Cast includes Jack Lemmon, Marcello Mastroianni, Daria Nicolodi, Isa Danieli, and Maria Luisa Saniella. (104 minutes,’85)
Spice World: A fantasy view of a few nights in the lives of the pop phenomenon The Spice Girls and their presence with road agent Grant. Cast includes The Flavor Gals (Mel B, Emma, Mel C, Geri, and Victoria), Richard E. The Face of Fu Manchu: The deaths in London continue, convincing Scotland Yards that the evil Fu Manchu is still alive in spite of people witnessing his execution. The film is set in an incredible’20s environment, with an excellent global cast. Cast includes Christopher Lee, Nigel Green, James Robertson Law, Howard Marion-Crawford, Tsai Chin, and Walter Rilla. Night Moves: L.A. investigator Hackman sets apart his domestic grief to track nymphet Griffith to Florida Keys. Difficult however underrated mental suspense film by Alan Acute leads to shocking pinnacle. Cast includes Gene Hackman, Jennifer Warren, Susan Clark, Edward Binns, Harris Yulin, Kenneth Harms, James Woods, Melanie Griffith, Dennis Dugan, and Max Gail. (99 minutes,’75)
Close Your Eyes: Scotland Yard investigator Henderson draws hypnotherapist Visnjic into a difficult case concerning a serial murderer and a little gal who’s been shocked from being held hostage by him. Mixing occult factors with a whodunit, this unique, sincerely scary thriller stays on target right to the end. Cast includes Goran Visnjic, Shirley Henderson, Miranda Otto, Paddy Considine, Claire Rushbrook, Fiona Shaw, Coon Redgrave, and Sophie Stuckey (103 minutes, 2003)
The Proud Rebel: Well presented post Civil War research of 2-fisted Southern Ladd searching for medical help for a mute child (played by Ladd’s actual child).Olivia de Havilland is the female who tames him. Cast includes Alan Ladd, Olivia de Havilland, Dean Jagger, David Ladd, Ceeil Kellaway, Henry Hull, John Carradine, and Dean Stanton. (103 minutes,’58)
Borderline: Bronson, minus Jill Ireland this time, is a border patrol officer looking for a murderer. Cast includes Charles Bronson, Bruno Kirby, Bert Remsen, Michael Lerner, Kenneth McMillan, Ed Harris, and Wilford Brimley. (105 minutes,’80)
