If your asked by your Russian woman to send money, take that as a warning sign. It’s not something they should be doing, even if they have bills to pay. They found a way to survive before you came along, why should it change all of the sudden? It shouldn’t and they will be sending the wrong signal if they ask for money.
That means that unless you’re engaged to them, or you really know them, you should never send any money. No matter how unsubstantial it may seem. Because you will set in their minds that you are going to continue to send them money. By agreeing not to send money and telling them they shouldn’t ask you should be able to avoid this.
Plus it’s a great way to make sure that your talking to the same person. If something doesn’t seem quite right never hesitate to ask questions. Plus you should try and open up and be honest with each other and learn as much about the other as you can.

Watch and really read their emails that they send you. Especially if they’ve requested money and you’ve refused to send it. If you see a person who gets irate and upset due to that they are probably only trying to scam you out of money.
Also while you’re in that area you should meet friends and family of the person. Seeing how they are can help you to understand how your bride may react in certain situations. Go with what you feel in your heart; if you’re unsure of something don’t go along with it.
Marriage is not a process that is simple, and there will be tough times. So really get to know each other and meet before you agree to marriage. Get to know this person as well as you know your friends, after all you want to spend a lifetime with her.
