There are not many genuinely unique areas of the United States that can boast as much outstanding natural beauty as the state of Alaska. Getting to Alaska by air from the United States or Canada is into one of the two principal Alaskan airports. You can fly into the north into Fairbanks or Anchorage in the south. A good alternative for many is to fly into one airport and depart from the other. This will give you a chance to see more of the area and not have to backtrack over parts you have previously seen.
