VeryGoodSearch is a search engine. This means that we search the web for web sites. We then categorize that information into a database. When you query that database by typing a keyword into the search box we look into our database to find sites that contain that word. We then display a list of those sites for you to choose from.

2. What is that Cost to Advertiser?
Some of our listings are paid for by the person who owns that particular web site. These results should be of primary concern to you. These webmasters and companies have paid to have their site listed here, which means, plainly, they are serious about getting you to come and visit their site. Obviously they have what they consider to be a worthy web site and are willing to pay money for you to come and visit it.

Any listings that do not contain the words "Cost to Advertiser" are simply listings we have found on the web through our own searching and are used when there are either no, or not enough, paid listings.
